Position Overview
As a Home Inspector at Inspector Villa, you will play a crucial role in evaluating the condition of both new and pre-owned homes. You will conduct thorough inspections of homes to assess the structural quality and functionality of various systems, including roofing, exterior, attached garages or carports, foundations, interiors, plumbing, electrical, and heating and cooling systems. Your insights and detailed reports will help prospective home buyers make informed decisions by identifying potential problems before they purchase a property.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections of residential and commercial properties.
• Assess the condition of home systems and structures, including roofing, exterior, attached garages, foundations, interiors, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Provide clear and detailed reports on the condition of properties, highlighting any potential issues or areas needing repair.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain inspection findings and answer any questions they may have.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Travel to various inspection sites, sometimes in adverse weather conditions, and work in confined spaces, on roofs, and in other challenging environments.

Requirements

• Background in one or more of the following areas:
  • Engineering
  • Architecture
  • General Contracting
  • Building Inspection
  • Residential Construction
• Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record.
• Current Home Inspector License (required).
• Certification with InterNACHI or willingness to become certified within 6 months of hire.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to write clear, concise reports.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Capable of climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and navigating through small spaces.
• Able to move quickly and efficiently between inspection sites.
